Within Stanley Engineered Fastening automotive division, an opening is currently available for Quality Manager at our Montpelier, In plant.
Position Summary
The Manager of Quality Assurance is responsible for developing quality standards and inspection activities, for insuring that incoming material, work in process, and finished goods meet authorized quality standards; develops plans to bring about improvement in the quality of products. Upon request, aids in the improvement of procedures or processes having an effect on product quality.
Essential Job Functions
Direct the Quality Assurance Department in attainment of established objectives.
Establish policies and procedures relating to the inspection of materials, tooling, processes and its vendors and subcontractors, as required to assure that such materials, tooling, processes and workmanship are in conformance with customer drawings.
Direct the 3rd party quality registration activities.
Periodically review customer satisfaction metrics related to quality. Provide direction/programs on maintaining or improving customer relationships.
Evaluate and recommend necessary improvement in inspection systems and quality control activities of vendors and contractors.
Periodically review all inspection and quality control activities to determine conformance with authorized quality control policy and procedures and make appropriate correction and improvement as may be necessary.
Analyze reports of defective goods complaints; institute the necessary action to control or eliminate the manufacture of defective products.
Advise management in reviewing new products, methods, and equipment with respect to quality products.
Seek and evaluate new ideas and current developments in the field of quality control and inspection; recommend their application where advisable.
Advise and assist Engineering in formulating proposals for policies, improvements, and changes in procedure, product design and specifications, processes, tools, equipment, and items that would lead to cost reduction.
Maintain company quality standards on outgoing products through subordinates and manufacturing personnel in each plant.
Act as arbiter in those instances where the Manufacturing Manager and Quality Control do not agree on the proper disposition of material, either in the form of finished product or as material in process.
Maintain a system for evaluation and investigation of complaints and product difficulties.
Assist the Purchasing Department in obtaining satisfactory vendor relations and vendor compliance with specifications.
Supervise or conduct investigations of process capabilities. Continually review specifications in order to bring them in line with customer requirements. Review shop capability, so as to reduce costs where necessary.
Maintain vendor relations and vendor rating program. Train vendors when required.
Review customer specifications and assist in preparation of estimates, for performance of special test programs.
Conduct in-plant training programs in order to further the use of statistical quality control in the plants.
Essential Skills & Experience
College degree or equivalent to a college degree in Quality Control, reliability of inspection policies, practices and objectives.
Minimum of seven to nine years experience in quality assurance management, related to automotive-oriented manufacturing sub-supplier of molded plastic, metal stamping, plastic finishing, cold heading, extraction and roll forming.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
